HII Happy late Easter!
I hope you all had a super awesome time! The pics are adorable and looks like a blast!
This week has gone by crazy fast but has been so great! Lots of unexpected things happened but I feel like in life that always happens so might as well just roll with it! You just never know what you are gonna get when you wake up here in Denmark, like one day it is sunny and warm the next there is snow. That happened to us on Tuesday, we woke up with snow falling all around us. It was freezing but we weren't gonna let that ruin our plans. That day we had decided to go to Assens, a little city about an hour away, do some work down there and then eat dinner on the beach and then come home. Even with the snow we roughed it and continued on. We did some stop bys there, knocked, no one was really home, so we walked over to the beach, and by this point we were soaked and freezing, the wind was so strong but it was BEAUTIFUL! The waves were awesome everything so we enjoyed the view and decided to eat our packed sandwiches, but it was so windy we had to huddle behind this little shack so we could eat in peace. It was crazy but so much fun! We had a little time before we needed to catch our bus and a good amount of time left for dinner so we found this little cafe on the ocean front, went in looking like hobos and got a galss of hot chocolate! It never tasted so good!
We also had a great appointment with Bart where he taught us how to make beet soup! We didn't get to try any of it but it looked really good and was really funny to just listen to him ridicule our cooking skills! It was hilarious but also really good because he opened up alot about his beliefs and just what he thought about it all!
Also, general conference was amazing! I only got to see 2 sessions so far but it was just so good! I loved it! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, I dont think I have ever appreciated it as much I do now! So it was a huge blessing!
Sunday: We had confernece in the afternoon so we finished up some weekly planning then headed over! The dubbed over danish is a little hard to focus on but it was still so good! Way fun to see it (it was the Sat night session) then as soon as the choir started singing the last song, we had to book it out with the Elders to make a train to Svendborg, but because of easter the bus didn't run, this meant that we had 15 minutes to get to the station and buy tickets. The church is like a 25 minute walk. We were all like there is no way we are gonna make it. But we decided to try, so we take off our shoes and begin sprinting to the station. Not gonna lie, it is super hard running in a pencil skirt and with a bag, we didn't think we would make it at all, we were all dying, it is probably like 2 or 3 miles. BUT WE TOTALLY MADE IT! We got to the station with 2 minutes to spare, the Elders had began buying tickets so it was all set up and we got on the train! Total win! Seriously a miracle! so we went to Svendborg had dinner with Ninna le, this cute lady and her family is adorable so that was a great end to our Easter!
NOW THE STORY OF THE WEEK!
So Friday was basically 2 long eating appointments, we started out going to Keiths our ward mission leaders house and had lunch then a missionary meeting, all went well, but becuase it went really long we didn't make one of our busses so we had to change everything around the rest of the night. Mainly because Friday is a super hellig day here so all the busses like run 1 an hour or less than that! So we finally got a bus back to the station with a little time before we should take our train out to Gelsted, where we were meeting with Tommy and Lene, 2 new investigators! But becuase it was Easter we didn't get a train we got a togbus which is basically a bus that drives the route of the train! So we finally got out to our appointment and it was wonderful like the cutest couple and so open and funny, we were all laughing and joking the whole time! They fed us dinner so we had time to get to know them and they are the sweetest! Just so ready, she has been looking for God and trying to see Him more in her life. At the end we showed them "He lives" and as soon as it says Find Him, she looks down and under her breath says, but how? It was so perfect and we were able to tell them about our purpose as missionaries and what Christ can do in our lives. It was just the greatest! One of the funnest appointments ever. But we didn't start eating dinner until like 8.00 so we had to make a bus at 9.24 no problem still had an hour,
Then they bring out the dessert so we hurry and eat it all and show them he lives and talk about Christ and at 9.00 we are like we should probably go (granted we are already supposed to be home at 9 but that is besides the point) but that is when she decides to open up to us about her feelings and faith and we are like crappp we cant leave yet, so we end it around 9.18 and we have less than 6 minutes by the time we get out, the station from there house is 20 minutes away. Again we start sprinting, as hard as we can, which at this point we had just been in a house with a chain smoker for 3-4 hours so we had smoke all in us was not super fast.. but we ran, the adrenaline was pumping and everything. We were booking it! We even slide down this huge hill and jumped over a fence to make it, and we ran around the corner and up the stairs to the station and there is the bus driving off right in front of us. Literally missed it by a second.
We tried like hailing it but it didn't see us, it was too late. And we had no idea when the next bus would come. So by this point it is 9.30 and we have no idea what to do. We are all coughing and laughing because despite it all it was way impressive we even saw the bus. So we start calling people, first our district leaders to tell them what is up, and why we aren't home on time, then people in the ward who could possibly come get us. Everyone was either away for easter or didn't have a car, most just don't have cars here in Denmark. Made it a little difficult. Blessing though being in both wards! We finally called this guy Jonathon and he drives over to us as fast as he can. Blessing also that we are a trio so we can drive alone with a man! He came and picked us up a little after 10 and drove us home, it was so great, though the smoke on us was way strong sitting in a small car it filled the air! Haha but we were so lucky he could come get us! We finally got home a little after 11 and went straight to bed! Such a crazy day but was totally worth it! Tommy and Lene rocked! They are the greast, love to talk but hey that is alright! Just so much fun! Laughing and coughing the whole time all the way home! Such a great day!
I love you all so much! Have a graet week!
