HEY!
I hope you all had the greatest week ever! It is so crazy it is almost October! It definitely is fall here, sadly the sun is going down a lot earlier than it used to, but this helped us to realize that our apartment had no lights. So we talked with this wonderful member about it and she took us to Ikea to buy some lights. It was really great, she is the sweetest lady and has the funniest family, I love them all so much! She just loves talking and so it gave us the perfect chance to really get to know her and give her attention. It was wonderful, then her husband brian came and set the lights up and helped rewire our apartment lights a bit and now we can see at night! It is the greatest thing ever. I never realized how bad the lighting was until being here a summer and noticing the difference between the day and night. It is crazy. But the members here are seriously the greatest and I just love being with them.
On Tuesday we had a visit from our Mission President here in Aalborg where we got to sit down and talk with him. It was great because you can really see he cares, he wants to get to know every missionary and he is willing to do whatever is needed to help us. He doesn't care what it is, he is willing and wants to be a part of it, I love it. So it was a way great talk!
We also had a zone training this past week, which was incredible. President O'bryant is the greatest ever, he is just really good at saying things simply and knowing exactly what we all need to hear. We talked alot about repentance and having a change of heart, because sometimes we get way to focused on baptisms and on how far along our friends are, but in reality none of that matters if they haven't repented and changed their hearts. Lasting conversion doesn't happen overnight or once we set a date for them to be baptized. It happens when they decided they want to change and use the saviors atonement to do it. It really made me think about repentance and all the joy that can come out of it.
Then we also are getting in the Christmas spirit, one night we watched a Christmas movie (approved by the church) that was all about this older lady who was lonely and sick and how she just didn't feel any love anymore. Then she found the Love of Christ in her life and it changed her whole perspective, but she was only able to see Christ through her friend who took the time to love her. It made Sister Rovig and me really want to go and visit all those that are lonely and don't have anyone, because winter is tough! If they know someone loves them it can make it so much better.
There is this less active, Kate, who we started doing service for and we were supposed to do service for her on Friday and we show up around 18:00 and she tells us to sit down for dinner and she has her two nonmember daughters there and their two guy friends and it was really great to see that even though they weren't members they still had a really strong faith. That isn't something we see alot here, but they still wanted to bless the food and wanted to hear our spiritual thought at the end. It was really refreshing to see people that were so open, even though it didn't quite work out as planned it was totally meant to be.
And PEDRO, He is doing way good, cut back even more on cigarettes and is looking so much better. It is a slow process but we were able to show him the Joseph Smith movie (the 20 minute one) in spanish and he loved it. He even asked if there was a longer version with his whole life. It is so true that people can understand the gospel best in their mother language. We have a family home evening tonight with him and some others at a members house and we are going to talk about the Book of Mormon which he loves. So that should be good!
I love you all so much! Have a fantastic week, and keep rocking it!
