HII FAMILY!!
I love you all so much! It is crazy to think another week has already come and gone, sometimes it feels like there is not enough time in the days to do all the things we want to do! But it has been a wonderful week. Even with frozen toes and fingers all is well! I am still so grateful for the members here and for their willingness to help us and how much they care for us. It is such a blessing to be able to have them to help us and know we can rely on them.
This past Monday while sitting at the computers we decided to give a card to this man across from us. This was the man I emailed you about real quick last time! He ended up watching "He is the Gift" while he was on the computer and started talking to us about it. He was really interested in what we believed so we taught him a lesson and set up another appointment to talk with him. At the next appointment, he said that he had tried praying again and that after he had prayed he really did feel the love of God. He really wanted to know more and is really open to hearing about how our church began. It is wonderful! It really was a miracle that he sat across from us and at that moment we decided to give him a "He is the Gift" card. It really helped to build my faith on the whole initiative.
We also continued to meet with J and his wife L, and when we met with them this past time he had many questions especially pertaining to the plan of salvation. J loves talking! Our last appointment with him yesterday was 2 hours long! He just goes on and on but the whole time is really concerned and curious about all things relating to religion. He loves his bible and reading. He loves doing research and has found many different things that websites say we believe, so we talked with them about that and gave them the lds.org website to continue to search on. It was wonderful because he has so many questions and is really searching for the truth. It is funny because he calls himself a lost soul, because he doesn't have a faith of his own and he said that he hopes he doesn't die a lost soul. It was just so incredible because he really truly does want to find out for himself. L doesn't believe in much but is willing to give everything a chance and see how it goes. So that is a big blessing too! His wife L is from New York and loves seeing fellow Americans. She always bakes us fun American desserts (like cake pops, Amanda that one reminded me of you)! She lived right near the cake boss place for a few years and told us some stories about it. It was fun to hear about their experiences!
Also, my birthday was a wonderful day! Thank you again for all that you all do! and for sending the package! I love it all so much!
We had a great time also, at this member I house, she lives about an hour car ride outside of slagelse in Næstved, but she invited us out to have Jule Frokost (the Christmas dinner) with her and her nonmember family so they could see that members and missionaries aren't weird but that we can be fun too! hahah It was really fun! We got the traditional dinner and it was delicious! I was hessitant at first becuase the top is a layer of fat of the pig, basically bacon and you know I'm not the biggest fan of bacon, but it was really good! They have the best rice dessert called risalamande or something like that yummy! Anyway it came to the end of lunch and she asks us and the elders if we have a game for the kids... we didn't so on the spot we thought of that game where you put a cookie on your head and have to get it to your mouth without touching it! It was a hit. The kids loved it and kept playing until after we left!
It has truly been a great week and we are continuing to give out cards and do service. Gods timing is perfect. Just the way things work out the way they should. Like one day we were going to decorate a less active members door for Christmas and we showed up at the same time they were going into their house, so we didn't exactly surprise them, but She C was feeling really overwhelmed and just had so much to do that night and she asked if we could help her. It was just perfect timing where we showed up and were able to take some of her burden and lighten it. It just shows that listening to the spirit is key in all that we do!
It has really been a good week! I am so thankful for the Christmas spirit and all the good things that are happening here in Denmark! I am excited for this week and all that we have planned! We have already been talking about who we want to visit on Christmas (24th and 25th) we are trying to find those who are lonely and could use the company. It is so sad thinking that anyone is alone on Christmas! So we are there to give them a little more joy. We are also going with the elders to sing at the hospital and the old folks home on Christmas which will be really special! As our district leader says its all about finding the island of misfit toys, or the grinch on Christmas, where all they need is a little love and friendship to change their lives!
Anyway! I love you all so much! I am so happy that I have you all! I hope you have an amazing week! I love you tons!!
